Nose detail of #801 - notice the K5LAR24 horn, unique (within Tri-Rail's lineup) to the F40PHL-2's until 2001, when #805 was the first with a K5LA with all bells forward.
Front pilot of #801, showing much less wear then as it did two years later. This particular weed plow (with the two notches at the top corners) is unique to Morrison-Knudson rebuilds of the F40PHL-2's era. January 2001.

Closeup of #802's right side panels, note the tiny American flag in the first "R" in "TRI" - a feature unique to the right side of this locomotive. #802 is the only unit to carry this detail, in addition to the logo in conventional-weight Helvetica. 801 and 803-805 recieved much lighter-weight Helvetica lettering after their 1993 rebuilds, in addition to a different position of the green roof striping than #802.

F40PHL-2 #805 shows off it's brand new paint scheme at the Miami Airport Station, April 8th 2001. Note that the original K5LAR24 horn has since been replaced with the more conventional K5LA.
#805, from the "B" end. #805 and #807 were the first rainbow-scheme units to arrive, and were delivered without blue roof sections, unlike #808 and 809. #805 and #807 were quickly painted to match.
Tri-Rail #805 makes an appearance at the Deerfield Beach station on the head end of a southbound consist. Note the welds and fiberglass repairs to the weed plow.
