Frames are identical to 1974 and 1975. 1976 would be the last year for the B.72 to come stock on the Sports.

One detail distinguishes most 1976 Sports from the 1975 models - the replacement of the slotted brake bolt with a 10mm hex head bolt. Otherwise, the serial number is the only way to tell a 1975 from a 1976.
Some examples may have come without self-adjusting brakes as well - note the Raleigh adjuster barrel on this tattered caliper; a feature not present on frames with the self-adjusting levers. Full details available in our serial chart section. |
